According to an article published by Al.com, a tractor-trailer crashed in the northbound lanes of Interstate 65 after blowing a tire this morning. The accident occurred near the Gen. W.K. Wilson Jr. Bridge, according to the report.
The Freightliner was heading northbound on the interstate when one of its tires blew, causing the tractor-trailer to hit the barrier and turnover. Sheet metal that the truck was carrying fell from the truck and went into the Mobile River.
No one was injured in the truck accident. The collision did cause traffic delays for a couple hours as one of the lanes was closed during cleanup.
The Alabama Marine Police are investigating the accident and cargo spill.
